When the school supplies start showing up in the stores, just after the 4th of July, we are reminded that back to school is just around the corner. Many of us become excited to welcome the new school year. Even some of us who claim to hate the school year look forward to seeing faces that we miss and the social life that come with them.
By early August, we have had enough of summer and we just want to get it over with. You see less people wearing white and fewer sun tans. The pools empty out and the beaches clear. Nobody wants to water their lawn because it means they’ll just have to mow it sooner.
Year round schools are a good idea. We have a couple here and they seem to be growing in popularity. Educators like the year round idea because students are less likely to forget what they have learned. Parents like year round because it keeps their kids occupied. Most summer activities such as camps, summer school and teams are over with by August and kids tend to sit around looking for something to do out of boredom. Kids tend to get into trouble when there is nothing going on to occupy them which is why law enforcement likes them back in school, the sooner the better.
Personally, I just started back to school and I’m happy to be back on a normal schedule.
