Wednesday, October 15th, marks the second annual Blog Action Day.
This is a day when bloggers are asked to devote their posts to a cause.
The cause this year is world poverty.
Will this effort actually amount to anything?
According to the Blog Action Day promoters, there are currently 7,663 Sites registered to participate with an audience in excess of 8,463,688 Readers. Not to mention all of the media coverage that will follow.
With this kind of attention, there has to be some kind of a positive outcome. If anything, bloggers around the world will be united for a cause. Even if we are from different countries and are of different beliefs, bloggers can stand together for something. It reminds you that the world is a good place and that people are generally good.
I plan to support this effort.
Yes, world poverty is something that we will never totally be without. However, we can all do something to make world poverty less acute. Donating money, education others, and drawing attention to world poverty are three ways that I will help the cause.
