In case you missed it, or simply want to see relive it, President Bush was attacked by a flying shoe. A reporter in the Bagdad audience at a news conference simply took his shoe off and threw it at the outgoing president.
Apparently, in Bagdad and much of the around the Arab world, throwing a shoe at someone means that you really do not like that person, at best. Shoes are considered ritually unclean in the Muslim faith. It’s considered rude even to display the sole of one’s shoe to a fellow human being.
I heard that he had his press credentials revoked as a result.
Maybe he’ll become a blogger.
Personally, I would never throw my new Uggs at anyone. I love them way too much.
