How cold is it?
In Indiana- A 10-year-old boy got his tongue stuck to a metal light pole.
He was testing out the “double-dog-dear you” challenge.
Hammond police say the fourth-grader was able to tell them that a friend dared him to lick the pole when the outside temps were around 10 degrees.
In Illinois-a 37-year-old man was found dead Thursday in the snow outside his home in Normal. He was without a coat, hat or gloves. Preliminary tests indicated he was intoxicated. Duh to the man.
In Michigan- a 50-year-old man appeared to have frozen to death after being locked out of his duplex overnight. No word yet on related squabbles which may have precipitated it.
In Wisconsin- a man froze to death after he apparently went sleepwalking outdoors in bare feet. Authorities suspect he had also been drinking before his body was found.
In Vermont, a poodle survived being left in a car for 3 weeks!
The owner of the poodle left to fend for itself in frigid temperatures at a Vermont airport for three weeks has been located and ticketed by police. He was also fined $100. He agreed to relinquish custody of the dog and pay for a variety of veterinary bills
The man told police he left the dog in the van unintentionally. The dog sat in the parked car in the airport’s parking garage during a bitter cold stretch of weather. The poodle was discovered after a concerned citizen noticed a stench coming from the vehicle and notified authorities.
How the heck do you forget that your dog is in the car when you are going on vacation for three weeks? Why was the poodle even in the car?
