Late-night host David Letterman said he “avoided getting married for … 23 years.”
“Regina and I began dating in February of 1986, and I said, ‘Well, things are going pretty good, let’s just see what happens in about 10 years …,” he joked during the taping.
“I had avoided getting married pretty good [sic] for, like, 23 years, and … honestly, whether this happened or not, I secretly felt that men who were married admired me — like I was the last of the real gunslingers.”
“So I get out of the truck and I walk two miles back to the house into a 50 mph wind. It’s not Beverly Hills, it’s Montana, for God’s sakes,’ ” he said. “And the whole way, I’m thinking, ‘See, smartass? See? See? You try to get married, this is what happens.’ “
SOME AIG Bonuses returned? Do they have a conscience?
According to Cuomo, the investigation into the distribution of the bonus cash continues. “I am trying to get the money back because I believe that is what the American people deserve,” said Cuomo.”I am hopeful that more AIG employees will heed the example set by their colleagues and pay the money back,” said Cuomo.
Of the $165 million in bonus cash paid out to executives at the bailed out insurer, “it might be possible to recoup approximately $80 million,” said Cuomo. The rest of the bonus cash will be hard to recover because it was paid out to non-Americans, and that is out of their jurisdiction. Non American’s got bail-out money???? Are you ticked off?
