Woohoo! My 500th post.
Not bad considering I started this thing like in August of last year.
My first post looked something like this:
It’s hot outside. And Humid. It’s 87 f.
I start so many blogs and manage so many blogs for so many other people that I thought it may be fun to start one for myself. We’ll see how it goes.
Right now it’s the last week of summer school On Thursday I have a portfolio presentation and a final exam. Then I get a week off to send my oldest child off to college.
I can’t believe how quickly the summer has flown by. Seems like it was the 4th of July just last week.
I have added my Twitter and Facebook. Feel free to be a friend on either.
Below my posts you’ll find feeds from some of my favorite blogs. Some of which I’ve helped along the way.
Thanks for stopping by.
Lame, I know….
I really started this blog to be something small that nobody would actually read or want to read. It was my spot to write. Since then, there has been oh so much material to write about:)
One of my favorite posts?
Over the weekend my Schnauzer dug up baby bunnies from my garden. I was able to get her away in time to save them. The mother simply hopped away and abandoned the babies.
The babies didn’t have their eyes opened and they still had their umbilical cords attached to them. They had some fur which tells me they were probably born within the preceding week.
We wound up taking them to the humane society.
According to experts, if you find a baby bunny nest you are supposed to leave it be. If your pet finds it you are warned to keep your pet away from it. Apparently, the mother will come back to feed her babies early in the morning or in the middle of the night and the babies only need to be with her for a few minutes to get their nutrition.
Unfortunately, my dog is bred to hunt small animals. She can’t help it. Keeping her away from the bunny nest would be impossible. We attempted to with a wire fences but, she burrowed through it in no time.
The chances of these babies surviving are slim. Even with the humane society looking after them.
I must have a very attractive garden to rabbits. I have a fence with additional precautions at the base. I just wish they’d keep out of my back yard.
Most infamous post may have been one that I did about a gang that used AK-47’s to shoot up a Miami neighborhood and kill people. A pro-gun activist blogger picked up on it and I was getting all kinds of not so great e-mails etc. It really wasn’t my fault that these gang members got hold of these guns and killed innocent people. But, the blogger needed something to post about. I got a bookooo of hits and made some Adsense change in the end.
I’m not the best with awards. I’m really sorry. I’m attempting to work on it.
I know I received like 10 of them over the past week or two. I’ve just been so busy with these silly meme’s that I have taken up with, aka, addiction. I do appreciate your awards. It was pretty funny getting an award that was a, ahem, different version of my “Life is Grand” award. Not sure why anyone would take the time to do that since the code was proudly displayed. Whatever.
JS Kit commenting system.
Ask Stacy, she’ll agree with me on this one.
It may look fancy but, you’ll get fewer comments. When meme followers are leaving 100 comments the last thing they want to do is fill out some stupid form. Also, it restricted a lot of potential comments. Oh, and removing it is not easy. It’s like entering a long tunnel with no opening at the end. I had to totally rewrite my code to get rid of it. Since getting rid of it, I’ve made so many new friends and have had so many, countless in fact, people say how happy they are that they can finally comment on my site.
Best part about blogging.
It’s kind of like some kind of underground society. The best way to describe it.
I have made so many friends from all over the world. People who I’ll probably never meet but, are always there for me to stop by and visit. I thank you for your kindness and friendship.
In ending, I’m actually going to follow through with a ‘tag’ that I was sent last night.
Stacey as in,
List six unimportant things that make you happy.
Margarita’s on a Saturday night (nope, started Adkins on Friday), whipped cream and jello, a sunrise while I’m running in the morning, my garden, my dog even though she barks way too much, and loved ones.
