Sunsweet has recently released a new product called “Philippine Pineapple.” Oh let me tell you, if I could eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, I would! They are so juicy and delicious and sweet! It is not shriveled or dry but actually plump and as close as you can get to a fresh chunk of pineapple. I found myself fighting with my kids over this! We ate them as a snack and I even added some to a pineapple dessert I was making!
Sunsweet Philippine Pineapple is “grown in ideal conditions in the Philippines, planted at elevations of 2,000 to 3,000 feet, where cooler temperatures help add more moisture to the finished product.” BY infusing it with real pineapple juice, it helps preserve the pineapple chunks so they don’t dry out and harden. We also found that when I threw the bag in the refrigerator they came out even more delicious when they were cold. Unfortunately, the bag didn’t last too long around here!
Sunsweet has been around since 1917 and is the world’s largest handler of fried tree fruits including cranberries, apricots and prunes.
