It’s time for my weekly tips. Take them with a grain of salt….
Don’t ya love house cleaning? It’s way funner to do than say playing around on the internet and reading blogs. Check this out….
Real Simple says that we can Fake Clean!
The Living Room
Reserve one side of sofa cushions to be shown to guests. Before company arrives, flip over the cushions to reveal good-as-new fabric. When guests are gone, flip them back.
Rid the sofa of pet hair by wetting the fingertips of rubber gloves and gliding your hand over the sofa. The hair will stick to the rubber.
Stack books, catalogs, and magazines in neat piles on the floor or arrange them in a deep decorative basket.
To disguise windows in need of washing, pull curtain panels closed.
Fold a clean blanket neatly and drape it over a stained sofa. Strategically placed throw pillows can also camouflage soiled upholstery. And…if all else fails…take a tip from an old friend.
Maxine says this: Brilliant Household tip
Always keep several get well cards on the mantle. So if unexpected guests arrive, they will think you’ve been sick and unable to clean.
Thanks for reading Harriet’s Weekly Tips.

The iPhone

A couple of weeks ago I got a new iPhone. Several of my readers asked me to write a review of the phone. So here you go…
I went to the store with the intention of purchasing a Blackberry. When I told the sales person my phone needs, he suggested that I try the iPhone. He was right. Here is why. I am dependent on my Google world of email, calendars, maps etc. The iPhone gives you an easy integration without having to use Outlook (hallelujah).
This phone goes beyond all of that. No more logging in and scrolling like crazy to check my email, the weather, and Facebook. They are all on my screen and with one push, I’m there. The CD player in my car broke. I can play music from my phone while charging it. Syncing with Google is a breeze. What cannot be done via Google can be done using iTunes.
Other pluses include the apps (I haven’t paid for one yet) and the fact that it locks and unlocks easily. Apps I enjoy include Facebook, Google Maps, and Echofon (Twitter).
Should you get this phone?
What are your needs?
If you don’t want to fork-up the $30 a month for internet, this phone is worthless for you. If you enjoy checking your email, messaging, and listening to music using one item to do so with, this is for you.
This phone cost me $99. For an extra $99 I got an extended warranty, headsets, a case, a car charger and a messaging phone for the free-loader living in my house.
To sum it up, the iPhone is a notch above any other kind of phone experience, in my opinion.

Well I’m glad you got the iPhone for one. I couldn’t live with out mine and my iPad is on order and when it ships I’m going to ditch the iPhone for it and just use the iPad. WOOT! I can’t wait. I have paid for many apps. Slingbox is the bomb. There’s the word scrabble that I should send you the link to. We can play scarbble on or phones with each other. Drop Box is a MUST!! Pandora a MUST. The fake it tips will be used at my house!
Fake house cleaning tips! Love ‘em. Stuff like that got me through three years of depression and very little real house cleaning. Something else that works is have a strategically placed bottle of a cleaning product and a cleaning rag, and unexpected guests think the reason your house is messing is that they caught you in the middle of a heavy cleaning. It is also good as an excuse to get them out of the house quicker. “So sorry, you caught me at a bad time”
