Don’t forget to have some fun!

July 29, 2010

Aloha friends.

All this week I am celebrating the life of my father.
My question for you is, what significant thing did you learn from your father?

My answer, I learned the importance of getting up early to run. It is my time to think things out and exercise my body.

This is an especially heart-warming question since we just lost my Dad to cancer in May. I learned many things from him but especially the importance of helping others. My dad was one of the most outgoing, friendly people I’ve ever known. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help others.

My father taught me to follow through on what you are going for. He never finished college (by two courses). I think he secretly wished he had and always told us to finish what we begin.

How to be a good wife. You might think that as strange…however he was such a good husband that I learn how to treat mine. Watching him interacted with my Mother was great. I didn’t realizes til years gone by that was what a child does. After Moms death I learned even more from him. How much he Loved her and Cared for her. I think that is why I chose my husband, we love each other and care for each other. Been together for 33 years now.

Do not know what happened the first comment end up on the lego comments?

He has taught me so many things…but most importantly to put your best effort into anything you do. If you are spending time on it, then it should be done right.

My sister and I joke around that our dad teaches us funny sayings. Things like “You like that song? Shut up and listen to it then.” There are funnier ones but I can’t recall any others right now.

My dad is very into our country’s history and sharing that with us was his passion. I can’t say that I appreciated it at the time though.
