Newsweek recently published an article on the Best places to be a Woman and the Worst Places to be a Woman.
Countries were graded using a scale of 1-100 based on justice, health,education, economics, and politics.
The 10 Best Countries for Women;
1. Iceland- score 100
2. Sweden-score 99.2
3. Canada- score 96.6
4. Denmark- score 95.3
5. Finland-score 92.8
6. Switzerland- score 91.9
7. Norway- score 91.3
8. USA- score 89.8 (disappointing!)
9. Australia- score 88.2
10. Netherlands-score 87.7
The three worst countries (probably hard to narrow this doen)
11. Yemen-score 12.1!
12. Afghanistan- score 2.0!!
13. Chad- score O!!!!!
Women in East Africa make up 80% of the refugee population
Since the start of the recession in the US, men have actually gained 768,000 jobs while women have lost 218,000 jobs.
On a positive note, women in the US have outpaced their male counterparts in the college degree department. Women aged 26-29 36% to men 28% (yet, who is getting the jobs?).
